In Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart” . the storyteller claims that he is non “mad” but his behaviour tells a different narrative. He is genuinely determined to destruct another male human being. non because of green-eyed monster or animus but because “one of his eyes resembled that of a vulture- a pale blue oculus. with a movie over it” ( 1206 ) . The storyteller sees the adult male with this ghastly oculus as a menace to his well being. but it is he who is a threat to his ain being. He kills the adult male with pride merely to profess to his horrific offense due to his guilt-ridden bosom. His bosom is empty. except for the immorality that exists inside which finally destroys him.

The storyteller insists that it his responsibility to kill the adult male with the evil oculus because he can no longer bear to detect the horrifying sight.
